Thank You Transform Work UK

Elizabeth pic 3x2My first day working for Transform Work UK was Thursday, 19th May 2016. We ordered coffee and headed upstairs to the first floor of Café Nero overlooking Uxbridge Road at Ealing Broadway, West London. The view was invigorating as Ros Turner talked me through the specialised database that holds all the Christian Workplace Groups (CWGs) on record, at the time about 350 of them.

I was passionate about workplace groups as I had started one myself at Ealing Council seven years before. The group had developed over time into a vibrant fellowship with a strong core that was outward focused and engaged with the organisation. Numerous events had been organised such as topical lunchtime talks, Alpha in the Workplace, Christianity Awareness Weeks and Christmas Carol Services. We had engaged with other groups within the Council as well as externally. It had been seven years of ploughing, sowing and reaping the fruit in many ways.

(Some of the outcomes included, improved overall staff morale, positive profiling of Christians as well as the Christian faith, contributing to the enrichment of work culture and elevating the values system of the workplace; Christians being visible as ‘the movers and shakers’ within the Council, and collaboration with other groups to organise events, etc.)

So when I left Ealing Council, I asked TWUK if there was a role for me within the team and soon I was positioned as Lead Ambassador. The main objective was to connect, equip and support leaders of CWGs across the UK to grow groups that bring positive and transformational Christian benefits to their organisations.

I did some travelling around the country visiting CWGs and meeting people, adding value to them and equipping them with resources to help them reach further, step out boldly and make a positive impact in their organisation. I shared my story as well as the stories of the hundreds of other CWGs in every sector group that were making a difference in their workplace.
I later became the Ambassador Team Lead and had the privilege of leading the team of Ambassadors that has grown over time. It is definitely an ‘A-Team’. They are all passionate about workplace groups having led or are leading groups in the workplace themselves. They are dedicated and committed to the vision of TWUK and, are hardworking and meticulous about the work. It was a joy to work with them. Some of them I assisted through the initial induction and orientation process which means I got to know them a little bit more.

The Core Team is ‘ace’. The Chair and Director have been supportive all the way. I have learnt from them and grown with them. And, we have had fun along the way. Our faith has been stretched, our prayers have been fervent, and our respect for each other has been unblemished. Now, I am moving on to the next phase of my career and ministry. It has been a gradual but significant transition. The Lord has been gracious in preparing both of us for this time of change. We can definitely see His handiwork in it all.
Firm Footing Foundation is a social enterprise I set up to help widows, orphans and marginalised children as well as to provide a service to churches and church leaders that will help to mobilise Christians in the workplace. I will be working with other workplace ministries which means our paths will cross from time to time.

But, it is obvious that TWUK are on the precipice of a great move of God that will catapult them to prominence in the coming days. Their faithfulness in the secret place is going to thrust them onto a platform of influence and impact globally. May the structures that will be put in place sustain the growth and carry them forward into the future. My prayer is that TWUK will go from strength to strength in every area.

Please do support and partner with TWUK financially. It is a Partner supported ministry. Without your partnership TWUK cannot continue to do what they do so well; which is support, equip and connect Christians to start and grow Christian Workplace Groups that are engaged with God, with one another in the group and with the organisation as a whole. It takes finance to staff and do this work.
My new contact email is:

Thank you TWUK.
