The Gladstone's Tree of Life café provided the venue for an evening TWUK workshop in central Liverpool. Steve and Grace, who run the Christian group at Sefton Council, led the event which focused on Christians who may be struggling in the workplace. Ros inspired us with a national perspective on workplace groups.  You can hear Grace's testimony in the first video.

Linda* came to the event having had a particularly discouraging day at a major hospital in Liverpool and was thinking of resigning. She met up with Helen* from the same hospital (* names changed). We had the opportunity to encourage and pray with them and at the end of the evening they had committed to meet up to pray and see if they could get a group going at their hospital.

Pauline encouraged the gathering by telling about how a Christian group had developed at Wigan Council. Having started to work there over a year ago, she was initially only aware of one other Christian. Then gradually, and in surprising ways, God put her in contact with others until now they have a group of 12 and are running an Alpha course in Wigan town centre. Click on the video below to hear her story.

During her visit, Ros met Mark Dale, Personnel Manager for Sefton Council. Mark has advised the Sefton group through the process of setting up including liaising with the Council’s Equalities Monitoring Group. This meeting gave Ros an insight into the types of issues Personnel Managers consider in setting up and guiding Christian Workplace Groups.
