Carol Services bear Fruit!
The TWUK team continue to hear news about the success of carol services organised by Christian Workplace Groups (CWGs). Carol services provide a potential opportunity for significant numbers of staff in the workplace to celebrate Christmas and of course to learn more about the Christian faith. CWGs have arranged a number of carol services held either ‘in-house’ (assuming managers are in agreement), or more frequently at a local church.
We recently received this report from The Accenture Christian Fellowship who organised a carol service.
‘The Accenture Carol Service was held at a church local to our London offices on 15th December. It was a wonderful celebration of Christmas and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere, the message, the refreshments and the music. Despite the Southern Rail disruption the church was fairly full with 150+ people overflowing to the gallery. A donation was raised for a Christian charity and a number of people asked for more information about the Accenture Christian Fellowship and the Christianity Explored course.’
Of course it’s great that so many people attended, but the Accenture Christian Fellowship also reminded us of the need to ‘pray for the true message of Christmas to remain with the attendees and for those looking into Christianity to come to a deeper understanding of the gospel.’ This is a prompt for all of us to pray that there might be long lasting impact in the workplace not only through carol services, but also from the delivery of ‘Christianity Explored’ and ‘Alpha’ courses being promoted by CWGs across the country.
