Chris's Blog
About me
Hi, my name is Chris, I'm 27 and for the past 4 years I've been working as a trading analyst at a large multinational energy company. Before then I graduated from Royal Holloway University with a degree in mathematics. I'm also the young adults leader at my church - City Praise Centre, a contemporary church based in Gravesend, Kent.
About this Blog
The very first thing I want to say is this: I don't pretend to know any or all of the answers to being a Christian in the workplace. The intention of my random scribbling is not to show how well I'm doing, but instead to encourage you that there are others in similar situations across the UK who are trying to work out what it means to be a Christian and follow Jesus in today's workplace. I hope and pray that my journey will help you with yours, whether you're just starting in the world of work, are a brand new Christian, or have worked all this out over many years.
I've been working in London for 4 years, and in that time I've encountered many situations in which my Christian morals have clashed with my desire to do the right thing at work. I plan to share some of these stories, and any new experiences. I know for certain I haven't handled them all in the right way, and I'm going to be as honest as I can about that!
If you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear them and I'll do my best to reply.

 | | Working for whom? | | For years I’ve heard preachers tell me that when I’m at work I shouldn’t act like I work for my boss, but like I work for Jesus. Besides the irony of hearing this from someone whose boss actually is Jesus, I’ve always thought it impractical.
