Christmas Testimony
From a Christian Workplace Group leader working for an insurance firm
Over the years I have had many Christians complain and challenge
that other festivals tend to get a lot more attention than Christmas.
So I laid down a challenge.
I gave an example of Diwali, the majority of the activity across our offices came from the ground up.
If Christians wanted to see something different they needed to step up.
I had quite a few feel challenged by that and approach with ideas.
But the best and simplest idea was...
impromptu office carol singing.
I challenged each of the Christian Workplace Group leads
in our major offices
to organise some carol singing
in the office.
The events were posted and sent out on all our internal social channels.
I then asked our site sponsor to attend who then paid for 250 mince pies.
I can’t sing and my wife laughed and laughed at the idea of me organising carols.
But in the end I found a few other Christians who were willing to turn up and managed to restart our choir.
It wasn’t quite field of dreams.
But a great start and
10 people singing in the office was pretty magical.
Next year will be amazing.
