Thought for The day - …and gave me strength
2 Timothy 4: 16-18
16 At my first defence, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. 17 But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I know I am in danger of repeating what I have written before but I am often aware how difficult the past few months must have been for former colleagues of the Audit Commission.
I suspect many of my former colleagues have experienced times of confusion, anxiety and have felt very alone during the last few months.
Having been involved in two TUPE transfers, several job re-structure and redundancy I can confirm the truth of Paul’s words “the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength”.
As we end a week of reflecting on Paul’s last letter take time to look back over the past few weeks and reflect back on those times of uncertainty and confusion.
Be assured that God never leaves us alone and that He is only a prayer away.
Oh and if you need a friend here’s one that is only an e-mail away and I ‘m sure that there are many more that are happy to help!
Prayer for Today
We thank you that you are always here even at those times when everything seems dark, cold and empty.
Give us the strength to cope with such times and to reach out to others who need a touch of love.
