People – a) Christians

How do you maintain unity amongst a group of Christians from very diverse church backgrounds & cultures?

Adrian Holloway Borough Hall Christian Fellowship
Of the regular attendees, it is probably true that we are mainly evangelicals veering towards the charismatic. But we have people in the Fellowship from most mainstream denominations including Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists and Pentecostals. We are ethnically mixed too with Asian and Afro Caribbean well represented.

I cannot claim that the Leaders of our Fellowship have any particular strategy for keeping the peace. I would however claim that it is an act of Divine Grace that He has got us this far in Unity! We are certainly aware of the potential for enemy attack in response to our growth in numbers and profile and continually pray God’s protection on us which thus far, by His Grace, He has provided.

We do not push any particular doctrinal line within the Fellowship, simply putting our trust in Jesus Christ and His Word. By concentrating on what unites us and investing our efforts into mutual support and prayer, we minimise the opportunity for attack from within.
